Cobalto Calcite Tumbled Stone
These are something you don't see every day. Wonderful pink Cobalto Calcite formed on a darker matrix and turned into these gorgeous tumble stones.
There will inevitably be some small cavities or "caves" present as Cobalto Calcite usually forms as a druze (i.e. a surface covering) over a hard matrix and separating the Calcite from the matrix is extremely difficult.
There are also sometimes other minerals present, often including brown/grey Dolomite, green Malachite and sometimes the rare black/deep red mineral Heterogenite. The actual pink colour comes from the presence of Cobalt in the structure of the Calcite.
Cobalto Calcite is a hard to find mineral anyway, and to find it as a tumble stone is even rarer !
