Large Size Covellite Tumbled Stone These are just wonderful pieces and we were very happy to find them ! Covellite is a very rare stone usually found where Copper is mined. These lovely tumble stones come from Peru. It's a reasonably soft mineral and only the harder pieces can be tumbled. When we say rare, we have been unable to locate any Covellite tumbled stones for over 4 years now ! The overall colour is deep indigo blue and sometimes pieces have a sheen on their surface. Look very closely though and you will see feint traces of black, deep red and purple. The surface is frequently uneven with both flat areas and shiny areas on the same stone. Nice, blue Covellite like these pieces really are difficult to come by - and don't forget, these are also large size stones ! This very rare stone is very much a stone of intent.
