This really is a superb, Large Size, piece of Green Serpentine with inclusions of dark pink or violet Stitchtite. It's approx. 130mm long and weighs over half a kilo ! The blend and balance of colours, which is exactly what you want to see in a piece like this, along with its size, are what makes it A Grade. Because is was originally formed as a crystallised rock under the sea bed, and was then, over millions of years, pushed to the surface of the land, it acquired the trade name of Atlantisite and much of the Serpentine with Stichtite that you see today is sold under that name ! 99% of Serpentine with Stichtite comes from just one location in the world, the Western Coast of Tasmania, Australia, and that is where this superb piece comes from, the Dundas Ultramafic Complex near the town of Zeehan and near the old mining ghost township of Dundas. This large and beautiful piece is roughly the shape of a computer mouse (!) with one side raised so that it very nicely fits your hand. It is polished all over and the colours are exactly the right colours you'd expect to see. It's a sizeable piece weighing over half a kilo ! The amazing blend of pink/violet and green, created by the two stones merging as they formed together, is just so lovely on the eye ! With high demand for this stone, and with it being found in just the one location, Serpentine with Stichtite is now becoming a fairly rare stone.
