Schalenblende Polished Slice No2
Schalenblende Polished Slice This is an excellent slice of a stone that is becoming harder and harder to find. It has been polished to bring out the wonderful creamy colour of the natural minerals. Found in Germany and in Poland, Schalenblende is actually the name given to a mix of four minerals that frequently form together, namely, Sphalerite, Wurtzite, Pyrite and Galena. This is a really nice example of exactly what you'd want to see in Schalenblende, the creamy colour against the grey/black metallic sheen, the way the minerals are separated by wavy lines, a completely irregular shape in formation and a nice heavy piece to hold.
