Natural Azurite and Malachite

This is really a super piece of Azurite and Malachite from the Aouli Mine, near the town of Midelt in the Khenifra Province of Central Morocco.

The green Malachite and the blue Azurite have formed together over an underlying matrix of, probably, Iron Oxide or Limonite, and the two colours complement each other perfectly.

Azurite and Malachite often form together in this way.

Straight out of the ground with no treatment, other than being hosed down to clean it up !
