Rare, Vera Cruz Amethyst Cluster No4
Rare, Vera Cruz Amethyst Cluster you will receive this exact piece Vera Cruz Amethyst is mined, by hand, in a dozen or so small scale artisan mines around the small village of Piedra Parada, high in the mountains of Cerro de la Concordia in the state of Veracruz in Eastern Mexico. Nearly all the pieces that are mined are sent to the nearby town of Las Vigas to be distributed from there. In years gone by, as the Amethyst was shipped from Las Vigas, it became known as Las Vigas Amethyst. This is now an old name that has dropped out of use. The world now knows this lovely Amethyst as Vera Cruz Amethyst. A rare form of Amethyst indeed, as the mountains in Veracruz state in Mexico are the only known source on Earth ! Unlike its purple cousins from Brazil and Uruguay, Vera Cruz Amethyst shows a beautiful mix of pale purple, deep vibrant violet, and lavender colours. The points nearly always protrude from natural rock matrix, which makes it look like they have simply grown straight out of the rock ! The crystals frequently also show colour zoning, where they may be pale lavender in the body but radiate to a deeper vibrant violet towards the tip of the crystal. They also often show clear, colourless sections which make for a striking contrast to the colour of the Amethyst. Crystal healers also believe there are subtle but significant differences in the metaphysical properties and spiritual meaning of Vera Cruz Amethyst compared to those of other Amethysts. It is believed that the energy of Vera Cruz Amethyst is lighter and softer than that of other types of Amethyst. It is also said to resonate with a higher frequency of energy. This piece is a beautiful example of one main point with a cluster of other smaller points at its base ! Size approx. 45mm x 30mm x 20mm Weight approx. 11grms
