you will receive this exact polished pebble Covellite is a very rare stone and usually found where Copper is mined. This lovely piece is from Peru. It's a reasonably soft mineral and only the harder pieces can be polished or tumbled. Even then each individual piece has to be polished and finished by hand, both to smooth it, polish it and thereby bring out the colour, and also to ensure that it is a hard enough piece to stand the test of time. The overall colour is deep indigo blue and sometimes pieces have a sheen on their surface. Look very closely though and you will see feint traces of black, deep red and purple. The surface is frequently uneven with both flat areas and shiny areas on the same stone. Nice, indigo blue Covellite like this piece, even though it has small areas of the Quartz matrix in which the Covellite formed, are really difficult to come by.
