It's a very typical "mosaic" of lighter blues and darker blues, exactly what you'd expect to find in a gorgeous piece of Blue Apatite. Although the surface has been polished smooth, it's not completely smooth as there are always small crevices, gaps, indents etc in Blue Apatite and really, that's just the way that Blue Apatite naturally forms !
