This, maybe not actually rare but certainly uncommon, stone is Midnight Lace Obsidian and this super pendant shows off the stone beautifully.

It has a great pattern that is revealed when it is held to the light.

This pendant nicely shows off the black and clear stripes that are the hallmark of Midnight Lace Obsidian and which is created by Black Obsidian being deposited over millions of years with alternate layers of clear solidified Silica lava.

The mineral itself is only found in Armenia, although more recently, a very much smaller deposit has been located in Oregon, USA.
