Petrified Wood Tumbled Stone

These stones are from ancient prehistoric trees that have, over millions of years, petrified, i.e. literally turned to stone. As such they should properly be called Petrified Wood. However, many times you will hear them referred to as Fossilised Wood.

These pieces have, for the most part, been tumbled to achieve a "flatter" shape rather than the more usual rounded shape.

They are all lovely stones though and each piece has that satisfying "woody" look and colouring.
